Long Term Disability

A long-term disability can have profound and long-lasting effects on an employee, his or her family, AND the company they work for. Overview

While the specifics of your long-term disability insurance will depend on the plan you develop with your Benefit Specialists of NY representative, the basic structure of this benefit is a monthly payment (typically 60% to 66-2/3% of salary, up to $5,000) to an employee who is disabled from injury or sickness. Payments begin after a waiting period (typically 90 or 180 days) and continue as long as the employee is disabled, but not beyond the benefit period.

Partial disability is also covered.
